Me first....
Its my page so I go first! This is me Richard Woods looking sunned in Spain in 2014. I am a Londoner (Tottenham boy she says!) who escaped in 1964 by marrying Janet. Bit of a duffer at school but did better later. Chose journalism instead of estate agency (duh!) and did a few years in Fleet Street, when it was such a place, and hacking was less reprehensible than it is today (a bit anyway). Then into Public Relations, with British Gas and in consultancy. Then along came desk top publishing which I got into, a few years doing some full page full colour work back in newspapers and then into the internet in 1994 with PIPEX in Cambridge. Terrific time with them and with UUNET, the US firm who took over but it all went rather belly up when WorldCom appeared. Retired in 2003 and live in Norfolk, wintering in Spain often, although last year it was spring in France. Norfolk is a great place - don't believe the media (I don't, obviously) who have second homes here...
Now Janet
Now I could write this but I think I had better get some help...And Janet says hmm about time! Did he tell you we met in the cells at Highgate magistrates' court over tea and buns in 1961 and have basically spent the rest of our lives together or that we have moved 28 times ( he won't like me saying that) mostly for work. Apart from packing our home into tea chests, my time has been spent misreporting in a variety of places including Wales and the Home Counties, teaching young journalists to curb their enthusiasm for not letting the facts stand in the way of a good story and then becoming a gamekeeper for private and public industry as a PRO or should that be pro? Retired now and glad for it. Idling cold days away in Spain and France and enjoying warm ones here. Revelling in the success of our grandchildren and wondering how it took so little time to become a mother of two daughters in their 40s when it seems like only yesterday they were toddlers.
And here is Olly...
He's doing his usual tourist thing of looking over a wall - this one is in Cordes sur Ciel during a trip in Spring, 2011. Being French, of course, he loves cheese and is rather proud of his long breed name - Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen - and the fact that a close relative was reserve best in show at Crufts 2011. Vive la France!
